Letter from FCO UK to use with medical visa application

I found this on friday whilst researching the topic on the internet

http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-living-abroad/travel-advice-by-country/asia-oceania/india#entryreqs

Go to this 'notice' link under

"We are aware that some British nationals wanting to travel to India for surrogacy purposes have been asked to apply for a medical, and not a tourist visa. We have not yet been able to confirm that this is a new requirement for all British nationals travelling for surrogacy purposes, but this notice, produced by the British High Commission based on Indian Ministry of Home Affairs’ guidelines, provides further information. There are a number of criteria to meet to get a medical visa, so we advise British nationals to seek advice before undertaking the surrogacy process. The British High Commissionwebsite provides information about acquiring British nationality for a child under these circumstances, and the time this process takes."

And you see this list...

Then ctrl + click on 'A letter of support for you to submit'

And you see this....

<---------

We were allowed to add it to our visa application yesterday with an urgent request for updated information as to the progress of our visa application because we are 7 months into a surrogacy pregnancy and have been asked to travel over at week 37 (January 20th)

Please also bare in mind we had a letter from Natalie Gamble stating the laws involved and that our child will be born British and a letter saying similar from an Immigration lawyer. This letter was therefore in addition.

Good luck everyone!

  3. Hello

I am responding to the questions that you posted on my blog.

Firstly the process has changed since I was in India picking up my Son. When I was there everything was processed via the BHC in New Delhi and now you have to post the required documents directly to the Liverpool immigration office.

Our Son was registered within 10 days but there was a delay in us recieving the registration certificate in New Delhi. In the end it was emailed over and accepted. I then got an emergency passpost for our Son so got home quickly. I hear now that there tends to be more of a delay with the passport rather than the registration.

    Wishing you all the best.
