Where do I begin...

Where do I begin in describing what we have been through so far? How much of it will you want to read?

I will keep it relatively short for now as I’m sure things will come up through the weeks over the next year (let's hope I am writing on this topic for that length of time as that will mean we have been successful)

We have decided that surrogacy in India is a good thing for us to work on over the next year. We hope with all of our hearts that it will lead us towards becoming parents. We made this decision in January this year after much heart-ache whilst trying to conceive using Egg Donor IVF.  At first the idea of using a surrogate terrified us both but the more we researched it, the better we felt about it. The more I have read about other people’s experiences, the more positive I have felt that this is really a realistic path for us to follow.
This is very much the ‘last stop on the fertility train’ for us both. We would find another way of having children if this didn’t work out for us, but I can’t perceive of us wanting to try surrogacy again.
We have chosen two beautiful Indian ladies as our two egg donors. Their faces are full of warmth and character. I think this might be how I see my own face. Who knows!
Unfortunately because of my Pakistani origin, I am not able to join my fiancé in going out to Delhi to begin the process in May. My heart broke when I realised on Thursday that my visa would take a minimum of 8 weeks to come through. It is really my own fault for not looking into visas earlier.
It will be hard to be at home whilst he is out there meeting up with Dr S, our surrogate and obviously ‘doing the deed’ with his donations. But I am relieved we can still go ahead as planned.
We are getting married this summer.
I don’t want to say anymore for now, except for saying, I already have a great deal of trust in SCI and in Dr S, Meg and Margarida. I think they all do fantastic jobs and they all believe with passion in what they are doing.
